Saturday? They’re all running together…

*Both of these are now in the Shop at the link up above.

A couple I finished this morning. Both for 4″ or 4.25″ 1911’s, and both what we call “half-lined.” The interiors are smooth leather, and the back panels are roughout. Basket-stamp on the left and the Barranti Leather-style hammered finish on the right. Both natural oil premium Hermann Oak leather and both are available. I’ll have them up on the websites later today* with all the details if you’re interested. If you’re sold and can’t wait…shoot me an email to BruceGibson@aol.com and I’ll ship it to you Monday via Priority Mail. Satisfaction guaranteed.

No waiting list, no backlog, and no advance-orders accepted. I apologize for the last one, but that’s the only way to offer the first two.

This one’s sold, but it’s an example of what a natural basket stamped holster looks like right after a massage of 100% pure Neatsfoot oil. They don’t always look all that great, but after a few hours, or overnight, things tend to even-out and give us a head-start on patina, and the ultimate honey-gold finish. This holster was for a 4″ or 4.25″ Commander-length 1911 for a fellow left-hander.

Natural Hermann Oak, premium American-tanned leather and heavy white machine stitching. The Blue Gun in the holster is primarily for shaping, and the actual hand-detailing that is done on the back panel for retention.

Typically, a plain (un-stamped) holster will be placed in a press with a Blue Gun and squished with around 6-tons of pressure. After the “squeeze,” the detailing is done to both the face and back panels. With a stamped or carved holster, you can’t use the press because it will destroy the stamping or carving.

1911 Holster Light Brown Alpha.

Gibson leather 1911 holster Light Brown Alpha basket stamped RH OWB belt slide pancake

Merry Christmas! I know I’m about 20-days early, and it’s not politically correct to put it that way these days, but I just got back from the annual Christmas tree pilgrimage to Jackson County, and we found us a good one. It wasn’t nearly the adventure one might envision. After 35-miles or so on the highway, the tree harvesting goal was accomplished in the parking lot of Lowe’s in Marianna, Florida. No crawling around in the dirt/mud/snow. Of course, this is Florida, so we don’t have dirt, mud or snow. Sand …we have sand.

I’ve got an experimental holster in stock. The color is called “Light Brown A.” I know–it looks more brownish-red, with emphasis on the red. Personally, I like it, but it’s a little different. It’s a right-hander, with white stitching, hand stamped with a rope basket stamp and Barry King half-flower border. The back panel is not dyed which eliminates any chance of dye bleed. It has a sealed top coat, hand-beveled, dyed, waxed and burnished edges and belt slots. The belt slots are for a 1.5″ wide, dual-layer (1/4″ thick) gun belt. Rake/cant angle is 15-degrees. Back panel is detail molded for retention.

If you want it, it’s ready to go. You can find it on our other website at this link GIBSON LIGHT BROWN ALPHA $149.00, Regular $169.00. *No Christmas delivery guarantee or promise.*
