Gibson Gunleather and Bruce Gibson Design Wild Rose floral carved right-hand belt slide pancake holster for the Commander length 1911 with 4, or 4.25-inch barrels.
The Wild Rose floral pattern is not embossed–it is hand-carved, and hand-stamped one detail at a time. This process takes many hours.
The site track is molded in to accommodate the larger sights on modern pistols, and the stitching is flared to eliminate “sticking” or hanging up on the draw.
Retention is excellent. Suitable for open or concealed carry.
Full trigger guard coverage, and cutaway for a comfortable, full-firing grip while holstered.
This is designed to fit dual-layer gun belts 1.5″ wide, and 1/4″ thick. This is a high-ride open carry or concealed holster with a 15-degree muzzle-rear rake or cant.
The Natural oil finish will darken somewhat over time with exposure to sunlight. A lot of folks describe this as “patina,” and it’s a really cool natural occurrence with veg-tan leather.
All we use is Premium American Hermann Oak vegetable tanned leather. All proudly made in the USA. Hermann Oak has been in the leather business in St. Louis, Missouri since 1881. There is none better.
Heavy “wheat” or “natural” colored nylon machine stitching.
Hand-fitted and hand-detailed. Holster edges are hand-beveled, waxed, finished, and burnished.
This holster is in-stock, ready to go, and ships via US Postal Service Priority Mail with delivery confirmation within 2 business days.
Satisfaction is guaranteed.

I don’t expect any awards for photography on this one, but I just finished it, it was sitting on the bench, and I thought, “Why not?” So…here she is.
Right-hand, high-ride, 15-degree rake, belt slots set to fit a 1-1/2″ dual-layer (1/4″ thick) gun belt. This one is made from premium American-tanned Hermann Oak leather. This one does not have a liner. Heavy white polyester machine stitching.
This will fit a 4″, 4.25″ Commander, or 5″ full-size 1911 with 3/4″ or so of muzzle exposure. It’s pictured here with a 4″ Kimber Pro Raptor II. Hand-carved, hand-stamped. Edges are hand-beveled, hand-dyed, hand-waxed, and hand-burnished. Slots, too. There’s a hell of a lot of time and love in this one.
The backside is hand-moulded and detailed for retention. This baby conceals beautifully–imagine that! I don’t think you’ll want to hide it, but if you have to, it’s easy!
Made in the good ol’ USA.
$150.00, shipped via the US Postal Service and Priority Mail with Tracking/Delivery Confirmation to all 50 of these United States (yes, that includes Alaska & Hawaii).

An old friend of mine said that to my wife a few years ago. He was a lawyer, and had been for many years. He passed away a while back, far too young, and I was just thinking about him, and what he’d said to her about this “job” of mine.
I love what I do. Most of the time. I suppose most folks that have chased a dream, do. I worked in the legal field for many years, but for me, it was like trying to nail Jello to a tree. Constant stress, and no sense of worthy accomplishment. Even good outcomes were intangible, and rarely, if ever, good for both sides. I don’t miss it.
With this gig, it’s different. It’s not all wonder and awe–it has its moments. But, even when it’s bad, it’s awful damn good.
Beautiful Friday mornin’ here on the Redneck Riviera. Thought I’d put up a photo of one of my favorite leather tools. This is a round knife made by Paul Zalesak out in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and I can’t say enough good things about it. Handmade by a blade artisan, and a razor out of the box. Heck, it still is. It requires very little on my part to keep an amazing edge–I strop it occasionally, and that’s about it. Hell, that IS it–I haven’t done anything in the 2 or 3 years I’ve had it except strop it. And, I use it every day.
Take a look at their website. Mighty fine folks to do business with.

Working on the new domain. I decided to let the old domain name go (Gibson Gunleather), and move to something that encompassed more of what I do. I’m still building gunleather, but that’s only a part of what I do, and what I aspire to. The new domain covers everything I need it to.
This is a dual-layer, bonded and stitched, Hermann Oak premium leather (American tanned) belt. It’s fully floral carved (not embossed) one little detail at a time. This one has a home, but I’ll be making more. It’s one of the things that I do. (Click on the photo for a larger view).
