The Tucker Gunleather HF-1. Mine’s over a decade old, but she’s still a beauty.

My Kimber Raptor napping comfortably in a much-loved Tucker Gunleather HF-1 OWB belt slide holster. Amazing design.

I know.  You’re not supposed to talk nice about other Maker’s product.  It’s business…go in for the kill, at all costs.  Win.  Always.  No matter what.

I call bullshit.

Fact is, I bought this holster second-hand over ten years ago.  “Stole” this holster would probably be more accurate.  I’ve loved it the entire time I’ve owned it, and it will easily out-last me.  It’s cool, it’s functional, and I’ve stolen more than a few of the “cool” features to enhance my own product.  Other than the belt slide, or pancake holster design in general, I’d say this design has probably been copied–attempted to be copied–more than any other.  Maybe with the exception of the Milt Sparks Summer Special, but I’d still say they’d at least be a tie.  The HF-1 has nothing in common with the Sparks Summer Special.  The Tucker HF-1 is a Southwest, sagebrush and tumbleweed functional tussler.  It is, what it is.  Awesome.

Phenomenal customer service, product excellence.  Function.  Pure function.  You should have one–at least one.  Rob Longenecker owns the operation, and he actually answers his phone, does what he says he’ll do, and has a bunch of time in the industry.  I’ve talked to Rob a few times over the years, and swapped a bunch of emails–he responds to those, too.  He’ll take care of you, or I wouldn’t be writing this telling you that he will.

Wrapping up this first blog post of 2018, I no longer accept advance orders.  I’ll build gunleather until I’m old, feeble and unable, but for now, I’m building what I want, and offering it here when it’s available.  I also love to brag on people I respect, that tell you what they’ll do, then do what they tell you.  Rob’s one of those people.

Don’t get me wrong–Rob’s gettin’ on up there, and if he ever retires, or slips a little, I’m 100% ready to steal this design and call it my own.  But, I don’t see that happening.  I’m convinced he’ll outlive me, so the only place you can get a true, Tucker HF-1, is from Rob.

Head over and check out what’s he’s got.  The website is www.TuckerGunleather.com

Here’s another of the holsters I finished last Friday.   I only have one of these.

It’s for a 4″ or 4.25″ Commander-length 1911, but the toe is molded open, so it will accommodate a 5″ 1911 with no problem.  The muzzle will be exposed with a 5-inch 1911.

This is hand-stamped one little bitty star basket stamp at a time, and finished off with a Barry King flower border.  It’s a right-hand, high-ride with a full combat grip.  Your middle finger won’t rub on anything.  Hand-oiled with 100% pure Neatsfoot Oil.  Hand-dyed, waxed, burnished and polished edges and belt slots.  The slots are designed to fit a dual-layer, 1/4″ thick heavy gunbelt.  It’s made from premium, American-tanned Hermann Oak leather, and machine stitched with heavy white polyester cord.  15-degree muzzle-rear rake, and a molded sight channel.  Only one of these, and she’s in-stock and ready to hit the road via USPS Priority Mail.  You can have it in your hands within a week–and, like most of them, she’s even better lookin’ in person.

$159.00, shipped.

Gibson Saltillo Star Basket Leather Gun Belt. Hand stamped and handmade in the good ol’ USA.

GIBSON SALTILLO 1.5" LEATHER GUN BELT GUNBELT HANDMADE HAND STAMPED CARVED HERMANN OAK

The credit for this idea goes to a long-time customer.  I happen to love it–thanks, Mike!

This is one of our 1-1/2″ wide, dual-layer (lined) leather gunbelts.  It’s a cool color we call “Saltillo” for the deep red highlights.  This one is hand stamped with the Barry King star basket stamp, one tiny little star at a time.  The border is also a Barry King stamp.  Stitching is heavy white nylon.  The hand-stamped leather keeper is hand finished, and hand molded to fit this belt.  It’s also hand sewn with linen thread in order to avoid a metal staple, which would corrode over time and make a mess of the works.  The edges are beveled by hand, painstakingly dyed by hand, then waxed and burnished to a fine polish.  There are seven (7) adjustment holes spaced 3/4″ apart.  It’s topped off with a heavy, polished solid brass Weaver buckle, and two floral brass Chicago screws.

If you want one of your very own, please feel free to order below.

If you have questions, shoot me an email to BruceGibson@aol.com, or use the contact form below.

$195.00 plus $12.95 USPS Priority Mail Shipping, Insured with Delivery Confirmation/Tracking.  Total is $207.95  (Florida Orders please contact me for Sales Tax).

***SOLD!*** One-off. Star Basket for 1911 Commander

***SOLD!***

This is a slightly new design we’ve been kicking around lately.  Belt slide or “pancake” holster for the 4″ or 4.25″ Commander-length 1911.  This one is pictured with a Kimber Pro Raptor II with a 4-inch barrel.  The rake is 15-degrees muzzle-rear, with belt slots for a 1-1/2″ wide dual-layer gun belt.  This holster is unlined, natural Hermann Oak American-tanned leather with heavy white nylon stitching.  The face is hand-stamped with a Barry King star basket stamp, and Barry King flower border.  Retention and concealment are excellent, and the ride is high.  This is an excellent holster for open carry if one is so inclined.  Detail molded on the backside for retention, and the site track is molded in.

This one is available for immediate shipment.  $150.00, shipped USPS Priority Mail, Insured with Tracking/Delivery Confirmation.  If you want it, or have questions, send me an e-mail to BruceGibson@aol.com

Gibson Gun Belt Star Basket BK and TLF. 1.5″ wide in Natural oil finish with border.

This is one of the most popular of the many hand carved, and hand stamped belt designs we produce around here.  This one is the Star Basket BK in a 1-1/2″ width.  It’s hand cut from a side of premium, American tanned Hermann Oak leather.  Each star basket is hand-stamped, one at a time, the entire length of the belt.  Each tiny half flower making up the border is hand-stamped.  That includes the hand-sewn leather keeper.  Nothing is ever embossed.  (Embossing is used in mass-produced factory products where the design is rolled or pressed into the leather with a machine).

GIBSON STAR BASKET IN PROGRESS DOMAIN-JAN 30 2016
The stamping process. By hand, one at a time. “Old school,” and time consuming. That’s what makes it so cool.

The buckle is solid, polished brass.  This one has two floral engraved brass Chicago screws attaching the buckle.

All edges are hand-finished, hand-waxed, and hand-burnished for visual appeal and to minimize the effects of exposure to the environment.

All of my belts have seven (7) adjustment holes spaced 3/4″ apart.  This is both visually appealing, and functional.  The heavy nylon stitching is recessed into a stitch groove to minimize exposure and wear.

Every belt is finished with 100% pure Neatsfoot oil.  Unlike an imported factory, or department store belt, these take a minimum of three (3) days to produce.

And, yes.  I baby ’em every step of the way.

STAR BASKET BK-NATURAL TWO-PLY LINED-DOMAIN--JAN 30 2016
Gibson Star Basket BK with border. Two-ply, hand-stamped American-tanned, Hermann Oak leather, natural oil finish, with heavy white nylon stitching and polished brass hardware. Made in USA.
